- WikiNav for last month is borderline, 36 out of 73 identified clickstreams went there. Mass views for all time indicates it could well be a primary topic by usage. --Joy (talk) 11:25, 25 November 2023 (UTC)
- Oppose 1, neutral on 2 regardless of the primary topic, my Google Scholar searches indicate that the name of the desert is typically included with the word desert and therefore it should be included in the article title. Additionally, this would improve recognizability for a name that is somewhat ambiguous. (t · c) buidhe 23:12, 4 December 2023 (UTC)
- Relisting comment: More discussion on the primary topic is required. NmWTfs85lXusaybq (talk) 00:22, 11 December 2023 (UTC)
- Support both. The primary topic is the desert. Agletarang (talk) 05:20, 20 December 2023 (UTC)
- Oppose both. 1, per Buidhe, “Desert” is part of its proper name. On 2, no primary topic, it is ambiguous with Garagum District, known often as “Garagum” or “Karakum” as transliteration options. The meaning, “black sand” is far too generic to ascribe PrimaryTopic. —SmokeyJoe (talk) 23:56, 25 December 2023 (UTC)
