Large parts of this article is an exact copy of this page. User:Kinki, do you have permission to use this text here? Otherwise we will have to delete them from the article. -- Jniemenmaa 12:34, 7 Sep 2003 (UTC)

Yes. (Though it's unofficial, but by common sense it is not in best interest of them to sue us for using it here. And I have an unofficial "yeah we do not mind as long as the info is correct"...) -- User:Kinki:Kinki 17:51, 15 Sep 2003 (UTC)

What you say is a bit confusing. Have you asked the owners of the site for permission to release text under the GFDL? See Wikipedia:Copyrights -- Jniemenmaa 09:26, 19 Sep 2003 (UTC)

English Clean-Up

[edit]

This is my adopt-a-page for today. I spent a year in Finland (at the University of Helsinki) and loved visiting this town. I'll clean up the English a little. Hope that's cool. Plutonium27 (talk) 14:41, 26 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Joensuu does not mean "mouth of Joe".

[edit]

Literal meaning of Joensuu was listed as "mouth of Joe". I changed it to the real meaning: river mouth. Mark8984 (talk) 06:31, 11 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

It can mean both, but I'm pretty sure river mouth is better. Joe isn't even a finnish name so I don't know why they would ever add that... MummoKissallaPöytääPyyhki (talk) 12:49, 22 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Flag?

[edit]

Why does the english Joensuu wiki have a flag but the finnish doesnt? NakkiHousu (talk) 13:23, 11 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The Finnish page also has the flag, it's just a little bit further down on the page. Also, if you feel something is missing, please feel free to edit constructively. Wiki is open for all, welcome aboard! Niera (talk) 16:20, 26 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
