Page move

[edit]

This page should be moved to EN 62262, which superseeded EN 50102 in 2002. I request a technical deletion, to make room for move. Power.corrupts (talk) 12:18, 20 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

copy text for later ref: This European standard - the equivalent of international standard IEC 62262:2002 - relates to IK ratings: the international numeric code for the degree of mechanical protection of an enclosure for electical or relectronic equipment. Full details of the codes used, etc are found in the article "EN 50102" - which was superseded by EN62262 in 2002. Category:EN standards

Recommend moving the extensive listing of IEC Standards, etc. to another page

[edit]

EN 62262 references three other standards which provide a more complete understanding of the testing requirements. However there is an extensive list of unrelated standards at the bottom of the page. Most of the standards listed do not appear to refer to impact testing, and are not specified in EN 62262 (or within the other three). Reducing the list to a link to another page would add clarity. I recommend that the list be moved to a new page, or be merged with other existing pages and then provide a "link to IEC Standards", etc. Then we can add the three standards referenced in EN 62262, which are critical for developing accurate IK Code tests. They are: IEC 60050, IEC 60068-1, and IEC 60068-2-75.Supposer (talk) 23:08, 31 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

No definitive origin to state the meaning of letters I and K

[edit]

Some articles define K as "Kinetic". Kindly complete the origin where the letters I and K were derived. IP makes a sensible meaning of Ingress Protection. "Impact Kinetic" does not sound right. Or does it? 142.112.34.2 (talk) 15:26, 3 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Table mass is wrong

[edit]

According to current pendular hammer standard (IEC 60068-2-75:2014), the mass is 0,25kg up to and including 1J. EN 62262 has no hammer specification, it refers to IEC 60068-2-75. Best regards Akapuma (talk) 08:56, 4 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
