Co-founders
[edit]A recent IP editor claimed that two individuals by the names of Li Pak-tam/David Li and David Stern are the founders of Canoo as they were the initial investors. They argued that Stefan Krause and Ulrich Kranz were only the first two employees hired. However, reputable news outlets such as the Verge state Krause and Kranz as the co-founders of Canoo. According to TechCrunch, Li and Stern's involvement seems to be limited to only financial support/investment. This does not make them founders of Canoo as they had no operation control within the company as far as one can tell from public documents. I would personally refrain from using the lawsuit as a source of information between Krause and his (ex?) wife Christina Krause as the lawsuit was settled out of court, and Christina Krause's claims about the extent of Li and Stern's involvement at Canoo remains unproven.
It also appears that Li's first name varies between Pak-tam and Botan. This may be a regional difference between various Chinese dialects. I do not know where Li is from in China, but Pak-Tam sounds much like a spelling/pronunciation from a Southern Chinese dialect while Botan sounds like a standard Putonghua/Mandarin spelling/pronunciation.
