- Majorly talk 18:41, 30 July 2009 (UTC)
- Too early to tell, just acknowledging that I've read the message. — neuro(talk) 19:36, 30 July 2009 (UTC)
I should be there, if all goes well. Colds7ream (talk) 19:49, 30 July 2009 (UTC)
- Won't be there, I'm afraid - I seem to have caught some sort of bug on the flight home, and am feeling somewhat less than fantastic... :-( Colds7ream (talk) 18:34, 5 September 2009 (UTC)
Aye, sounds good. Places to stay available at mine if needs be. Ryan PostlethwaiteSee the mess I've created or let's have banter 20:03, 30 July 2009 (UTC)Sorry guys, something's come up. Ryan PostlethwaiteSee the mess I've created or let's have banter 19:38, 4 September 2009 (UTC)- Probably not, but September is long enough away that I might be able to be there. We'll see. KTC (talk) 00:08, 31 July 2009 (UTC)
- Maybe, sounds possible and tempting. — Werdna • talk 09:39, 31 July 2009 (UTC)
- Possibly. the wub "?!" 15:14, 31 July 2009 (UTC)
* Maybe, if I have the money. Ironholds (talk) 18:27, 2 August 2009 (UTC) Personal events force me to pull out. Ironholds (talk) 12:42, 1 September 2009 (UTC)
- I would like to attend, assuming real life doesn't get in the way. As I'll be driving from the Birmingham area to Manchester, I'd be happy to give a lift to anyone along the route who might need it. --RexxS (talk) 19:05, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
- I'll try and make it. I'm a student messing around over summer wanting something to do, whilst waiting for Uni to start again :p IJA (talk) 02:03, 10 August 2009 (UTC)
- Would have been there but for the time on the Sat, weekend afternoons are busy for me during the summer. BigHairRef | Talk 15:18, 13 August 2009 (UTC)
- Maybe. Swine Flu Manchu (talk) 18:25, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
- Yaris678 (talk) 19:23, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
*It's a possibility- money being the crucial factor, I'm afraid.Absurdtrousers (talk) 15:17, 18 August 2009 (UTC) Nah, not possible, sorry. Absurdtrousers (talk) 15:37, 1 September 2009 (UTC)
- Will give it a go. --Deskana, Champion of the Frozen Wastes 21:01, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
- Seriously considering it, would like to go. Out of curiosity, how long is it likely to last (train times)--Jac16888Talk 00:45, 31 August 2009 (UTC)
- As long as it goes. I'd say two hours minimum, five max. It really does depend. You don't need to stay the entire time, it's not official or anything. Majorly talk 00:52, 31 August 2009 (UTC)
- What is car parking like nearby? A short way to the northeast along Fountain Street is parking for motorcycles: I have been in the area a few times before when visiting Manchester to buy things. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 05:17, 31 August 2009 (UTC)
- Not too sure on this one I'm afraid. Majorly talk 13:20, 31 August 2009 (UTC)
- When I've been to meetings at Manchester Town Hall on Saturdays in the past, I've been able to park on-street - I seem to remember the meters were cheap. That was a few years ago though. My GPS shows parking at Queen Street and George Street as the nearest carparks - only a few minutes walk away. --RexxS (talk) 18:33, 31 August 2009 (UTC)
- Do attendees have to register, or can they simply arrive?
- Will food be available, or only drink? (I am teetotal.) Anthony Appleyard (talk) 09:06, 31 August 2009 (UTC)
- To be honest, most people don't drink at the meetup. I know I won't be drinking - we normally get a meal and have a few cokes whilst we're getting to know each other. Although the meet is in a pub, it certainly doesn't mean we're just going to get lashed! ;-) Ryan PostlethwaiteSee the mess I've created or let's have banter 09:42, 31 August 2009 (UTC)
- Indeed. There might be a couple of pints here or there, but we're not out to get munted. London meetups at least are the site of prodigious amounts of J20 and coke, not much more. Ironholds (talk) 09:56, 31 August 2009 (UTC)
- I havent had a drink in over 20 years, so I won't be having a tipple either.--Swine Flu Manchu (talk) 10:21, 31 August 2009 (UTC)
- No need to register. Just arrive whenever. Majorly talk 13:20, 31 August 2009 (UTC)
- want to go if all goes well. Does anyone passing by York can offer a lift? thanks! Zeyi (talk) 13:25, 1 September 2009 (UTC)
- Since it is at a w'spoons, would we be have some food like a workin' meal sort of thingy? Also how long is it likely to last?IJA (talk) 13:56, 1 September 2009 (UTC)
- Warning: roadworks in central Manchester: Piccadilly Gardens and north end of Mosley Street (re tram lines); part of Deansgate (laying pipes). Anthony Appleyard (talk) 12:01, 4 September 2009 (UTC)

Summary
[edit]The turn-out was encouragingly low, which means most of the northerners had better things to do on a summer weekend.[original research?] As it happens, 40% of the attendees had travelled from Sydney, Australia, so it was a little embarrassing for us locals. In attendance were: Werdna, his delightful travelling companion xx.xx.xx.xx, Yaris678, Anthony Appleyard, and RexxS. The topics of conversation were anything and everything, but we didn't cover much of them. --RexxS (talk) 17:06, 5 September 2009 (UTC)
- Sorry I couldn't make it. Something came up (family issue) and it slipped my mind. Majorly talk 17:30, 5 September 2009 (UTC)
