I can tell you that Yorkshire people do not omit the word "the" (I was born+raised there). If you can't hear it very well, that's your lookout.
  • 16:1216:12, 22 February 2017 diff hist −2 Zero-marking in English Fixing this. As the article say, the word "the" is not omitted in these cases, its sound is abbreviated. So removing it from a written transcript would be unnecessarily misleading and confusing.
