Alishar (Persian: علي شار)[a] is a village in, and the capital of, Alishar Rural District of Kharqan District, Zarandiyeh County, Markazi province, Iran.[4] The previous capital of the rural district was the village of Duzaj.[5] The 14th-century author Hamdallah Mustawfi listed Alishar as one of the main villages in the district of Kharraqan.[6]

Population

At the time of the 2006 National Census, the village's population was 1,487 in 401 households.[7] The following census in 2011 counted 1,367 people in 394 households.[8] The 2016 census measured the population of the village as 1,048 people in 366 households. It was the most populous village in its rural district.[2]
