== IMDb not reliable ==

Hi. Can I ask why you consider IMDb to be an unreliable source for a citation. --[[User:Mudforce|Mudforce]] ([[User talk:Mudforce|talk]]) 16:34, 20 June 2021 (UTC)

Revision as of 16:34, 20 June 2021

Information icon Thank you for making a report about Derwishi10 (talk · contribs · block log) at Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism. Reporting and removing vandalism is vital to the functioning of Wikipedia and all users are encouraged to revert, warn, and report vandalism. However, it appears that the editor you reported may not have engaged in vandalism, or the user was not sufficiently or appropriately warned. Please note there is a difference between vandalism and unhelpful or misguided edits made in good faith. If the user continues to vandalise after a recent final warning, please re-report it. Take it to WP:ANI. Firestar464 (talk) 10:32, 15 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for reminding me.

Yes. I understand. It's just I am a bit sad that my BIS article is deleted, so I wanted to at least help updating articles. My apologies.

P.S.: I added infoboxs on some of them how were they?

@Doctorine Dark: Hi, the rest of your contributions are perfectly fine, it was just the overlinking part :) FMSky (talk) 14:12, 21 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

infobox

Add an infobox for Jace Hall.Arek333 (talk) 01:20, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

?? What, how about you do it yourself? FMSky (talk) 01:39, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Scores

Hi there. Thanks for the corrections at Werner Lorant. Per WP:FOOTY consensus, for match scores the larger number goes first, so always 3–1 instead of 1–3. I've fixed that at the Lorant article. Kind regards, Robby.is.on (talk) 10:38, 27 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. Thanks! Firefangledfeathers (talk) 17:20, 1 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I second that. --SergeWoodzing (talk) 12:35, 2 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
PS Sarcasms like "whatever" cannot be considered appropriate edit summaries for article text. Write what you did, not what your mood is. --SergeWoodzing (talk) 12:59, 2 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop edit-warring on Greta Garbo. She was not a "Swedish actress". See and use the talk page! We all have to do that, including you. --SergeWoodzing (talk) 12:43, 2 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Just saw it, i thought the consensus was "Swedish", have reverted it FMSky (talk) 12:45, 2 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! It's always a good idea to know the basics on a article's subject before changing the lead. --SergeWoodzing (talk) 12:47, 2 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I didnt touch her nationality at all, i just reverted an IP edit that did, please see the page's history. FMSky (talk) 12:48, 2 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
That's exactly what I did see. Not even an IP edit that is basically correct should be arbitrartily reverted just because it is an IP edit. You changed Garbo's nationality, in gross error, from "Swedish-American" to "Swedish", as if you knew nothing about her, and you did that not once, but twice, according to the article's edit history. And both times with no edit summary. Shall we go on arguing this? Will it lead to anything useful? --SergeWoodzing (talk) 12:55, 2 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
That IP is known for making unsourced changes and is currently in a sockpuppet investigation. So i just thought it was another one of those, thats all. I will be more careful in the future FMSky (talk) 13:03, 2 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Socks

It may be more advisable to report socks at WP:SPI rather than on a previous sock's talk page, especially when it's not their first sock. CAMERAwMUSTACHE (talk) 16:48, 5 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, yes i just thought it was a lot faster that way as the case was obvious. FMSky (talk) 16:57, 5 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
It is obvious, yes, but I doubt the admins are watching that page since the user is blocked. I have filed a report. CAMERAwMUSTACHE (talk) 17:07, 5 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

doja cat page

Hello. I'm here in regards to edit you made, with an edit summary saying "revert vandalism by VersaceSpace". Vandalism is a very serious accusation, and this certainly was not that. In my edit, I removed the second use of the word "faggot" because the word had been used in the previous sentence, so the sentences flow better. I also removed the word "derogatory" as I believe it violates the POV policy. I removed mentions of other celebrities in the covid paragraph, as I felt it didn't make sense to mention other celebrities when the section is about Doja Cat. Lastly, I combined the covid and 2018 paragraphs. none of this was vandalism. I thought maybe I was bugging, but you've done this before. I will restore the edit and you have a better reason to revert it, feel free. versacespaceleave a message! 11:48, 12 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

actually, you can put a plural on "edit" since apparently you reverted other edits of mine? even though the other ones were not controversial? please be more careful. versacespaceleave a message! 11:59, 12 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Constant removal of people's birth city

Why are you constantly removing the birth place (city) of the sportsmen on Wikipedia I edit? It's factual and there's citation for their birth place. All persons Wikipedia pages have their birth city mentioned yet I notice just the ones I edit you repeatedly remove. Kindly please explain why? A clearer understanding would be much appreciated. Thank you WikiHuman2021 (talk) 17:11, 15 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@WikiHuman2021: Place of birth shouldnt be included in the opening sentence per MOS:BIRTHPLACE -- FMSky (talk) 18:40, 15 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of interest by Danny M125

Hello, I'm 36.77.95.247. In your requested page for protection, i has been found that Danny M125 has been engaged on conflict of interest of Dorothy Stratten due to the article's ownership. So, because it doesn't warrant enough to justify the protection, i want you to discuss these problems of the article's talk page or report the user to WP:COIN because there is a place where you can discussing concern about COI editor. Thank you. 36.77.95.247 (talk) 14:25, 20 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

MysterioRey619

Hello. I noticed you've reverted multiple vandal edits by the editor I mentioned in the heading. Have you reported him? Thank you. Just curious. I'm thinking it's probably time to do so. Samurai Kung fu Cowboy (talk) 05:01, 22 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, not yet because i wasnt entirely sure if the edits were vandalism or just general incompetence or something. I will do it now though the next time i notice something. FMSky (talk) 16:08, 22 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. It could have started as incompetence and there was no reason to not give him the benefit of the doubt. However, I've noticed he's done it a lot and when corrected on some of the pages repeated it. So, at this point I think it's safe to assume it's vandalism. Plus I've now left a message on his talk page, politely telling him it's counterproductive and asking him not to do so. So, certainly if he does it again, it's vandalism. Again, thank you and thanks for making those corrections as well. Samurai Kung fu Cowboy (talk) 22:16, 22 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello there, good morning,

first of all, if the article's name is Pando, Uruguay it's not overlinking (or linking nations which is against WP guidelines). Also, i don't see the problem in leaving that he's just a current manager (has left PAOK, past now, we surely are not going to mention in intro that he was also former manager of PAOK's youths), and when (if) he finds a new job we'll add the new club.

Sorry for any inconvenience, happy editing --193.137.135.2 (talk) 10:50, 27 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Peter Steele's real name

I am in touch with Peter's niece who thanked me for restoring his real name, Peter, on his Wikipedia page. I cannot believe you keep reverting it to a made up name. Do you not believe he was born Peter? Space Rodeo (talk) 01:20, 1 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Space Rodeo: Wikipedia isn't really about personal beliefs but about proper sourcing. See these two relevant pages on Wikipedia policies and guidelines: Reliable sources and Wikipedia:Verifiability.
The name that is currently in the article is backed by a book reference which seems reliable enough. You changed the name without citing a reliable source. If you want the name changed you will have to cite one that supports the name. Robby.is.on (talk) 07:22, 1 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I did and I cited the website run by his family, as per their instructions. Not sure how that isn't reliable. His birth name is not a personally-held belief. Unfortunately semi-obscure rock stars don't tend to always have reliable information about their birth. They do sometimes do have poorly researched books written about them. He was a singer not a historical figure. I'm guessing you're a Wikipedia hobbyist and not a fan of this band, yes? Space Rodeo (talk) 09:13, 1 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Space Rodeo: Oh, right, sorry, I missed that. Apparently, @Gargaj: removed the website reference (link) with an explanation in the edit summary why it is not reliable citation: "citation is a copy of wikipedia". This action is backed by WP:CIRCULAR which states: "Also, do not use websites that mirror Wikipedia content or publications that rely on material from Wikipedia as sources. Content from a Wikipedia article is not considered reliable unless it is backed up by citing reliable sources. Confirm that these sources support the content, then use them directly."
Unfortunately semi-obscure rock stars don't tend to always have reliable information about their birth. I agree that is a problem. It's one we frequently face here on Wikipedia. Unfortunately, the book seems to be the best source we have right now (?).
I'm guessing you're a Wikipedia hobbyist and not a fan of this band, yes? Correct. I just happened to notice your post here because I had FMSky's Talk page on my watchlist from when I posted here myself in April. I had not heard about Peter Steele before, all I knew was that a band called "Type O Negative" existed. Robby.is.on (talk) 09:34, 1 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Justin Bieber: Public Image Section - YouTube and Twitter Subsection

Information icon Hey there, I'm Beemer03. I was reviewing Justin Bieber's YouTube and Twitter Subsection and noticed that you re-added the following information:

Six of Bieber's music videos (more than any other artist) listed in the top 40 most disliked videos on YouTube.< ref >"Justin Bieber video is most complained about of all time on YouTube". The Daily Telegraph. London.< /ref >

My question is whether this information is actually necessary. He may have charted six videos on that list many years ago, but that is no longer true. Statistically this is incorrect because in the List of most-disliked YouTube videos, he only has one in the top 50. Kindly revert this. You can let me know what you think on my talk page. Thanks.
