== THANKS! == |

Hey, just a few words to let you know that I truly appreciate your intervention towards User:Mbinebri who tries to delete one of the pages I created. I'm sick and tired of so-called "patrollers" who roam around Wikipedia and try to have pages deleted when they don't know a thing about the subject matter, scrapping the efforts that have been made in their creation. I despise deletionists, especially the kind that put a "speedy deletion" tag on a page SECONDS after it's been created (It happened to me... several times) and it's a glimpse of fresh air to see that there are still people like you who don't appreciate that stuff either! Again, thanks! [[User:Terveetkadet|Terveetkadet]] ([[User talk:Terveetkadet|talk]]) 20:20, 19 August 2010 (UTC) |

Hi. When you uploaded Image:360 panorama from elysian park 2.jpg, you did not specify complete source and copyright information. Another user subsequently tagged it with {{GFDL-presumed}} and, for some time, it has existed on Wikipedia under the assumption that you created the image and you agreed to license it under the GFDL. This assumption, however well-meaning, is not legally sufficient and the tag is being phased out. Images using it are being deleted.
This image has been tagged for deletion and will be deleted in one week if adequate copyright information is not provided.
If you, personally, are the author of this content, meaning that you took the photograph yourself or you created the chart yourself (and it does not use any clipart that you did not create), please retag the image with a free image copyright tag that correctly describes your licensing intentions, usually {{GFDL-self}} or {{PD-self}}. Please also make sure if you have not already done so that you write a good description of what the image depicts, when you took the photo, and other important details. This will allow Wikipedia to continue using the image.
If you did not create the image or if it is derived from the copyrighted works of others, please keep in mind that most images on the internet are copyrighted and are not suitable for use on Wikipedia. Wikipedia respects the copyrights of others and does not use images unless we know that they have been freely licensed. Any creative work is automatically copyrighted, even if it lacks a copyright notice. Unless the copyright holder has specifically disclaimed their rights to the image and released it under the GFDL or another compatible license, we cannot use it. If you did not create the image, and cannot make the image compliant with Wikipedia:Non-free content, simply do nothing and it will be deleted in a week. All other non-free images must follow these rules.
Please feel free to contact me on my talk page or leave a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions with any questions you may have. Thank you. Aksibot 07:52, 3 June 2007 (UTC)
This is actually kind of sad for two reasons. First, I did take this photo which has now been deleted for some time. I intended for it to be of use to anyone who it could be of use to. I was/am just new and didn't know how to add the license info properly. I don't believe there was a handy drop down list like there is now! :) the other sad thing is that until today I have had a typo in my email address and therefore never got any notification of this. Good news is that I have now resolved this issue! Now if I could only find where I stored that photo...

This is the only warning you will receive regarding your disruptive edits. If you vandalize Wikipedia again, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. YEAH YEAH NUTTY (talk) 03:49, 6 July 2010 (UTC)
Your username is the only reason for this block. You are welcome to choose a new username (see below).
A username should not be promotional, related to a "real-world" group or organization, misleading, offensive, or disruptive. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account.B
Please choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines. However, do not create a new account if you wish to credit your existing contributions to a new name through a username change. To request a username change:
- Add
{{unblock-un|your new username here}}
on your user talk page. You should be able to edit this talk page even though you are blocked. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "E-mail this user" on their talk page. - At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
- Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a list of names that have already been taken. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Changing username.
- Add
{{unblock|Your reason here}}
below, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. Template:Z12 Daniel Case (talk) 03:50, 6 July 2010 (UTC)f
{{unblock|I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this; i'm kind of new to the wiki world but my name has existed here for 3 years without ever causing a commotion before. It is not affiliated with any group or organization. It is simply my email address minus the domain. I use this same handle in every forum I post in all across the web (which should be easily verifiable by a simple google search). My goal is not to promote anything and certainly not to "vandalize" anything. I don't really want to change it if it is possible to keep it since it is easy for me to remember. If you have any suggestions as to how to change it without losing all my edit history, I will take the advice under consideration. It seems hardly reasonable to ban me indefinitely from editing though. I just want to be a part of what makes wikipedia good. Designsbyd (talk) 06:45, 6 July 2010 (UTC)}}
- Unfortunately, when you modified your userpage to link to a website that appears to be for a product or service that was identical in name to your userid, your username entered the realm of "being related to an organization". As the note above says, your username is now the only reason for the block, and you're welcome to continue once you change it. To do that, you will have to use the correct unblock template. Speedy deletion nomination of User:Designsbyd
A tag has been placed on User:Designsbyd, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Template:Do not delete YEAH YEAH NUTTY (talk) 03:54, 6 July 2010 (UTC)
N.B.:
Dear nutty, I am sorry but I think you are exactly that. I am completely within my userspace freedoms to:
"...include a simple link to [my] personal home page, although [I] should not surround it -with any promotional language." I have read through the page:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Criteria_for_speedy_deletion as well as the userspace page creator information
They advise editors, such as yourself, to: "Take special care to speak appropriately and explain the concern; many users will take it as a personal affront or attack if an unknown user announces they are going to delete a userspace image or page and an uncivil or heavy duty approach can discourage new users who are unaware of expectations and might enjoy contributing. Remember that a limited amount of personal information (perhaps a short biography) and a freely licensed tasteful personal photograph or two are usually allowed if the page reasonably complies with other requirements. Simple use as a personal web page is not in itself a speedy deletion criterion..."
And if I could also ask that you please keep in mind that:
"Contributors sometimes create pages over several edits, so administrators should avoid deleting a page that appears incomplete too soon after its creation." I would very much appreciate it. I had just started this page and have not yet filled in related information that I feel will help the wikipedia community to better understand my areas of expertise and interest. I want you to know that you "unambiguously" caused me a lot of trouble and cost me a lot of time for having to deal with you and I sincerely hope that you find other ways of venting your frustrations than attacking well-meaning contributors and possibly turning them off of wikipedia all together!

- I'm looking into this - I have noted that the website linked was not a commercial site, and made no attempt to sell a product. The name unfortunately appeared to be one. I have contacting the blocking/deleting admin. (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 14:44, 6 July 2010 (UTC)
- I have been in email contact with this user, and am reconsidering this. Daniel Case (talk) 16:49, 6 July 2010 (UTC)
Daniel Hayes
I've restored it to User:Designsbyd/Daniel Hayes (actor) for you. To be honest, I'd be very surprised if there were enough real sources about him to actually make the article keepable — but you're certainly free to try... Bearcat (talk) 02:23, 13 July 2010 (UTC)
- Thank you for your quick action! I very much appreciate it. I will do my best. May I contact you for review when I feel it is ready to publish?

File permission problem with File:Daniel_Hayes_5.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:Daniel_Hayes_5.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-enwikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-enwikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. feydey (talk) 08:18, 13 July 2010 (UTC)
thanks for the reminder! you work fast! i am working with Hayes' manager regarding the photos. i requested rights free images and he emailed these to me stating that they were. i have forwarded our conversation to the permissions address. i was just uploading so that i could start seeing how i wanted to use them. i haven't even published the page into the mainspace yet! i didn't think that people could see it let alone already be scrutinizing it. i mistakenly thought that my userspace was the place for in-progress pages. is there a place that i can work on my files in private until i have worked out all the bugs? somewhere that i have more than 12 hours to work on it before it is deleted (i am new and i may work slowly and over the course of several edits)?
Designsbyd (talk) 17:13, 13 July 2010 (UTC)
- You have 7 days until the image goes under speedy deletion review. feydey (talk) 19:22, 14 July 2010 (UTC)

File:Daniel Hayes.jpg missing description details
If the information is not provided, the image may eventually be proposed for deletion, a situation which is not desirable, and which can easily be avoided.
If you have any questions please see Help:Image page. Thank you. feydey (talk) 08:19, 13 July 2010 (UTC)i added author information to this image. i hope that will clear this up.
Designsbyd (talk) 17:33, 13 July 2010 (UTC)
- No, the updates You added will not help You to avoid these pictures from being deleted. You need permissions from the author's/copyright owners (to be sent to Wikipedia) to keep the images. Or You could take some pictures with Your own camera. feydey (talk) 19:51, 14 July 2010 (UTC)
- I did forward the email from the copyright owner. Does this have to be in the WP:Consent format to count?
Designsbyd (talk) 20:05, 14 July 2010 (UTC)
- I did forward the email from the copyright owner. Does this have to be in the WP:Consent format to count?
- That would be the best format. Other formats could work too, but may lead possibly to misunderstandings. feydey (talk) 20:17, 14 July 2010 (UTC)
- ok thanks! I will send him that too. I just found that form. I appreciate your help and speedy responses.

File copyright problem with File:Sciarclogo.jpg
Thank you for uploading File:Sciarclogo.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Eeekster (talk) 07:00, 22 July 2010 (UTC)
- hey thanks for reminding me. I was searching for a similar copyrighted logo for the proper template. took a break to water my plants but i'm back now and i have added it. would you mind taking a look and removing the no copyright template if all is well?

Non-free files in your user space
Hey there Designsbyd, thank you for your contributions. I am a bot, alerting you that non-free files are not allowed in user or talk space. I removed some files I found on User:Designsbyd/userboxes. In the future, please refrain from adding fair-use files to your user-space drafts or your talk page.
- See a log of files removed today here.
- Shut off the bot here.
- Report errors here.
Thank you, -- DASHBot (talk) 05:03, 24 July 2010 (UTC)
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.
