The Jaume I tower is in Barcelona, Spain, not in Germany. Somebody should change it (I do not know how to do it)

German-centric

According to an anon on the village pump this is a translation of de:Aussichtsturm. Still, it looks like a machine translation. Some editing or reworking would be appreciated. - Mgm|(talk) 09:31, Jun 15, 2005 (UTC)

I cleaned up the translation of "special observation towers". It should be good now. -zappa 05:38, 24 February 2006 (UTC)

This article seems pretty specific as to German observation towers. Would we maybe want to move this to "German observation towers" and start a new article for just general observation towers? -zappa 05:39, 24 February 2006 (UTC)

Note also that the English "Observation tower" has a different meaning the German "Aussichtsturm" (literally Outlook tower) which is set as the interwiki - The German word "Aussichtsturm" can not have a (para-)military connotation at all. The German article states that in its introduction very clearly (Aussichtstürme, auf denen Posten sitzen, die über größere Zeiträume ein Gebiet überwachen, werden als Wachtürme bezeichnet. - Oberservation towers that are held by guard posts over an extended period to overlook an area are called watchtowers.)
