She was elected to Sejm on September 25, 2005 getting 14248 votes in 21 Opole district, candidating from Platforma Obywatelska list. On june 2009 she was elected to European Parliament[1] from Platforma Obywatelska list. She joined Group of the European People's Party (Christian Democrats)[2] in European Parliament
