Chhewang Nima (1966 or 1967 - c. October 23, 2010) was a well known Nepalese Sherpa who had climbed Mount Everest 19 times, making him one ascent short of tying Apa Sherpa's record of 20 ascents.[1]

On October 24, 2010 it was reported that he was missing, after being struck by an avalanche near the summit of Mount Baruntse.[1] It was reported on 25 October that the search for his body had been called off.[2]
