Template:Interwiki copy/doc

This is a documentation subpage for Template:Interwiki copy It contains usage information, categories and other content that is not part of the original template page.

This template may be used to give attribution for text copied from other Wikimedia Foundation projects into the English language Wikipedia.

Place the following code near the top of the talk page of the English page:

{{Interwiki copy|url= |title= }}

• After |url= place the permanent URL of the Wikimedia Foundation project page you are using.
• After |title= place the exact name of the original page.

Alternatively, provide the source as an interwiki link using Special:PermanentLink:

Don't forget to add a dummy edit in the article to fix attribution problems. For example, for content copied from Simple-Wiki:

Content copied from [[Simple:Wikipedia]]; see that page's history for attribution
