Etymology
[edit]From Classical Syriac ܩܠܒܝܕ (/*qālobīḏ/, “last”), from Ancient Greek καλοπόδιον (kalopódion, “last”), diminutive of καλόπους (kalópous, “last”), compound of κᾶλον (kâlon, “wood”) and πούς (poús, “foot”).
