Etymology

    Inherited from Prakrit 𑀭𑁄𑀮 (rōla), from Sanskrit रव (ráva, roar; cry), ultimately from Proto-Indo-European *h₃rewH- (to shout, yell; a rustling sound). Cognate with Pahari-Potwari رولا (rolā), Hindi रौल (raul) among others.
