zt-ḥmt

[edit]Etymology
[edit]zt (“woman”) + ḥmt (“woman”). This compound arose because the feminine ending -t in zt eventually became silent, making zt homophonous with z (“man”), so that it became necessary to add ḥmt to clarify.
