[edit]Probably related to añt (“on”),[4] or to Proto-Indo-European *h₂entíos, Proto-Indo-European *h₂ent-.[5] Alternatively, related to Armenian անութ (anutʻ, “armpit”), via a Proto-Indo-European *h₂(V)nt-h₂-o-. Cognate with Latvian azuots (“bosom”).
