1. (medicine, pathology) Acronym of face, arms, stability, talking, eyes, react. A mnemonic for diagnosing a cerebrovascular accident (“CVA”) or stroke. The mnemonic F-A-S-T-E-R also was coined in recognition of the word faster, as a need for speedy diagnosis and treatment.
