1. (automotive, astronautics, journalism) An estimated time of arrival (ETA), that is exceedingly optimistic, needing to be doubled or tripled to arrive at a reasonable estimate. Used by journalists, editorialists, and fans, concerning the ETAs of milestones and products from commercial spacelaunch provider SpaceX and electric car maker Tesla, Inc.; as well as other endeavours of Elon Musk.
