Abstract:
Cultural and historical heritage in Kosova as a potential for development of tourism - focus on the Kosova regions Development of the tourism in Kosova will bring chance to many sectors of economy in the country and revive some others, due to the potentials identified. Kosova as a geographical term but also as region with an offer in the field of tourism is located in the western Balkans while in essence it has approximately the same historical and cultural heritage as other neighboring countries, with a slight difference that during 1945-1980 there was a lack of development of this field comparing with other regions of the common country called SFRY then. After the year 1999 there is a rapid development marked in the field of tourism and touristic offer in Kosova. However, it has to be stated that this development is not placed in the appropriate coordinated and planed way in long terms. In this regard, there is a priority due to the fact that there is a „crossroad“ of different heritage of different periods, different people and religions in Kosova, which makes it to a certain extent peculiar, but at the same time has some similarities with the neighboring countries and regions, from which one could get good examples and experience, but also plans for further development of tourism as a field of business which can have a significant effect in the overall economic development in Kosova, with an appropriate level in creating and increasing the national income.
