Abstract: The article studies social and personal identity of a person, pragmatic aspect of a person’s functioning in social environment. The author gives an extensive definition of social and personal identity. The study touches upon the problem of a person’s routinization, absence of demand for his personal qualities by a modern society. Social space is presented as a space of social machines functioning, studying of which helps to understand what a man is in up-to-date society and his factual destination. Along with this the author clears up the necessity to return to a man through producing new social concepts due to appearance of new conceptual personalities.
