Abstract: Question of the evolution of terms and concepts in the national scientific and reference literature and legislation connected to use of information and communication technologies in the economic sphere is considered. Possibilities and examples the application of information and communication technologies at different levels of economic activity in domestic practice are studied. The directions of using information and communication technologies in the strategic planning of sustainable development at the national, territorial and sectoral level in the context of ecological modernization of the national economy of Ukraine are proposed.
