Abstract:
The 3-year average annual value of U.S. agricultural exports to Columbia grew at a compound annual rate (not adjusted for inflation) of 13.1 percent between 2009-11 and 2018-20, compared with 2.0 percent for U.S. agricultural exports to all other countries. Researchers studied the 10 leading U.S. agricultural exports to Columbia from 2009-2018, as well as 5 additional product categories showing fast growth in exports to that country, to get a better sense of where opportunities lie for U.S. suppliers. U.S. exports to Columbia of corn, soybeans and pork grew at a higher annual rate that other products, and the U.S. market share of Columbia's imports of those products remained high.
