The campus community got a chance to play with pups and help local shelter animals thanks to ECO, a College of Design student group.
"We're taking old t-shirts to make dog beds and dog blankets to donate to Fulton County Animal Shelter," said fourth-year Bachelor of Science in Industrial Design student Janelle Peters, president of ECO. "We also have GT Parents with Pups with us to attract students to come and see who they're helping."
"ECO is a sustainable design club," said Peters. "We want students to always think about the Sustainable Development Goals when they're making their designs for class. We also work with Steve Place, the Campus Sustainability Project Manager in the Office of Sustainability, to do all of the recycling bins within the College of Design."
"We're open to all majors but a lot of our events tend to hone in on College of Design students. We do a lot of community service events along with arts and crafts promoting sustainability."
