- English: Hiroshima is one of largest cities in Japan and the capital of Hiroshima prefecture. During World War II, it was the first city in the world to have an atomic bomb dropped on it. Today it is a vibrant and bustling modern city. The city has one World Heritage Site, the Atomic Bomb site. In addition, the larger Hiroshima Prefecture has another World Heritage site, Itsukushima Shrine.
