Ancient Material

Ancient Materials,(BotWBreath of the Wild)[1] also known as Ancient Parts(BotWBreath of the Wild | HWAoCHyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity)[2][3] and Ancient Components,(BotWBreath of the Wild)[4] are a recurring class of Items in The Legend of Zelda series.

Location and Uses

Breath of the Wild

Ancient Materials are Materials that all source from Ancient Technology, like Guardians. Ancient Materials are a type of Monster Part, and therefore can be exchanged for Mon and used to Cook Elixirs.

When Link defeats Guardians, they will drop several Ancient Materials. Fallen Guardians can also be scavenged for them.[5] A number of Ancient Materials can be found in Treasure Chests in Ancient Shrines and Divine Beasts. Lastly, Ancient Materials are sold by the Merchant Teli, who travels between Fort Hateno and Hateno Village.

Sheikah Slate Upgrades

As part of the "Slated for Upgrades" Side Quest, Purah at the Hateno Ancient Tech Lab offers to upgrade Link's Basic Runes in exchange for Ancient Materials.[1]

Ancient Soldier Gear

Ancient Materials can also be brought to the Akkala Ancient Tech Lab, where the Ancient Oven can make Ancient Soldier Gear, so long as the lab's Furnace is ignited.[9] Making Items will cost Link Ancient Materials and Rupees.[10]
