Semester Fees

The semester fees must be transferred in time for each semester in which you wish to begin or continue your studies. Please click on the location of your degree program below and read all the information carefully before transferring.

Students at Campus Munich, Garching, Weihenstephan and TUM Asia

Information about the Basic Student Union Fee and the Semester Ticket for Students at Campus Munich, Garching, Freising-Weihenstephan and TUM Asia in Singapore.

Students at TUM Campus Straubing for Biotechnology and Sustainability

Students at Campus Straubing need only pay the Basic Student Union Fee for Lower Bavaria / Upper Palatinate. Be sure to read the information about your campus carefully.

Students at Campus Heilbronn

For degree programs at Campus Heilbronn you must pay the Basic Student Union Fee for Munich and the Basic Semester Ticket for Heilbronn. Please read the following information carefully.

Parallel Studies and Teacher Training

If you are studying two degrees at once at TUM, within Bavaria or TUM and the other one outside Bavaria you maybe don´t have to pay the Basic Student Union Fee.

Tuition fees for students from non-EU countries

For international students from third countries, i.e. countries that do not belong to the European Economic Area (EU + Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway), tuition fees will be charged from the winter semester 2024/25. All information on fee levels, waivers and scholarship programs can be found on the website on tuition fees for international students.

TUM students have set up “TaxSense”, an information portal that provides international students with important information about the German tax system – from reading your payslip right to filing your taxes correctly.

Please note that TUM cannot guarantee that the information provided there is up-to-date, complete, and correct.

Public funds to improve conditions of study

As of 1 October 2013, TUM will receive public funds to compensate for revenue previously generated through the collection of student tuition. These funds – as with the previously collected student tuition – are to be allocated specifically for improving the conditions of study and teaching. Want to know more?
