flooding the internet with some of the most mind-boggling conspiracy theories I've ever read, regarding the storms.
An idea is concocted, embellished, exaggerated, then presented as fact grounded in concrete, simply because the poster says, "I know it to be fact!" And, of course, because we are in a political season, the pols are attempting to make hay, accusing each other of anything and everything imaginable. Their followers then repeat the accusations as facts, ready to cast the non-believers into the fiery pits of the netherworld!
My God, have those people anything better to do? Have they any common sense and/or common decency? Can any hold their tongues or typing fingers at bay from trying to seek their 15 minutes of internet fame?
Meanwhile, thousands of good people are working tirelessly to assist in rescue efforts. Americans from all walks of life are donating time, food, essentials, money, as a show of unity in time of distress to help their fellow Americans.
And the loonies persist, turning themselves into despicable people, deserving of repudiation from each and every American with common sense and common decency.

Can’t be sure about anything these days. But the facts are the US Navy experimented with dropping dry ice into the cloud systems of a hurricane.
This was back in the late 40’s.
Some scientists claim the dry ice increased the intensity of the hurricane and also altered its course.
Of course it was determined in court to not be the case but it does make one curious to find out more.

Yes, the U.S. government conducted experiments with cloud seeding using dry ice in hurricanes during the late 1940s. This effort was part of Project Cirrus, which began in 1947. Essentially the experiments of GE and our armed forces, during Project Cirrus, are the reason we know that the strongest hurricanes are warm at the bottom and frigidly cold at the top.

If you look at the storm path, it is a very rare path that this storm took. We don't have but one other example of a storm taking a hard turn like the one with this experiment.

I was referring to the research on our (imaginary) ability to currently create and control hurricanes - not research on our 70 year-old, preliminary experiments to see if we could (we could not).

Several years back I read a book called State of Fear. It is book written by Michael Crichton. It is a fictionalized account of eco-terrorists' attempts to cause a tsunami to hit the California coast and destroy millions of people in order to promote their agenda.
Michael Crichton is an author who does his research and bases his books on circumstances that are technologically possible although there is one or two things that, in reality, may hold up the narrative. However, when he wrote State of Fear, the time and technology was not completely feasible. Today, I don't know.
Is it possible to direct a hurricane? Is it possible to seed clouds to prevent rainfall? Can tornadoes be stopped? I don't know. But, I wouldn't put it past evil people, and there are millions, that are trying to further their agenda.

Sounds like they have the ability to do so much more than we actually can imagine, hopefully they are using it for good and not to bring 15 minute cities to grab land or cause forest fires.
If it was used to sway votes or own land for agendas especially in a storm like Helen where so many lost their lives, homes and cities you could consider it a weapon of mass destruction that flies under the radar for the population.
