     Grizel Mercer is the daughter of Sir Laurence Mercer of Aldie and Helen Mercer of Aldie.1 She married Charles Stewart, 7th of Ballechin, son of Charles Stewart, 6th of Ballechin and Anne Dow of Arnhall, on 27 September 1719 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.1,2
     From 27 September 1719, her married name became Stewart.1
