Maj.-Gen. Noel Warren Napier-Clavering1

     Maj.-Gen. Noel Warren Napier-Clavering was born on 24 December 1888.1 He was the son of Francis Napier-Clavering and Elizabeth Cowan.2 He married Margaret Vigers, daughter of Thomas William Vigers, on 14 July 1921.1 He died on 30 September 1964 at age 75.1
     He was educated at Clifton College, Clifton, Bristol, England.1 He was educated at Royal Military Academy, Woolwich, London, England.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1917.1 He was awarded the Chevalier du Mérité d'Agricole.1 He gained the rank of Temporary Colonel and Chief Engineer between 1936 and 1937 in the British Forces Palestine.1 He was AA and QMG 4th Division between 1937 and 1939.1 He fought in the Second World War, where he was mentioned in despatches twice.1 He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1941.1 He was DAG GHQ Middle East between 1941 and 1942.1 He was Chief of British Military Mission to Egyptian Army between 1942 and 1945.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1944.1 He gained the rank of Major-General in the Royal Engineers.1
