     Edward Martin Greenhow was baptised on 30 December 1760 at Stirling, Stirlingshire, Scotland.2 He was the son of Captain Michael Greenhow and Elizabeth Woodward.3,4 He married Mary Powditch on 5 September 1786 at Tynemouth, Northumberland, EnglandG.1
     He was a surgeon in 1786.1 He was a physician in 1822.1
