     Harriet Garstin was the daughter of Reverend Christopher J. Garstin.2 She married Edmond Ross Macnaghten, son of Francis Macnaghten and Ellen Charlotte Conolly, on 20 September 1876.1 She died on 21 February 1923.1
     From 20 September 1876, her married name became Macnaghten.

     Lt.-Col. Balfour Macnaghten was born on 23 December 1875.1 He was the son of Alfred Hill Macnaghten and Arabella Maria Betts.2 He married Hilda Lardner, daughter of William George Lardner, on 8 February 1902.1 He died on 23 July 1945 at age 69.1
     He fought in the Boer War in 1902.1 He fought in the West African Campaign between 1905 and 1907.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches and was wounded.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1917.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 12th Royal Lancers.1
