     Anne Ryder was the daughter of Reverend Dudley Charles Ryder.2 She married Colonel Charles Powell Leslie, son of Charles Powell Leslie and Hon. Prudence Penelope Hill-Trevor.1 She died in January 1819.1
     Her married name became Leslie.

     Charles Powell Leslie was born on 13 September 1821.1 He was the son of Colonel Charles Powell Leslie and Christiana Fosbery.2 He died on 26 June 1871 at age 49, unmarried.1
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) between 1842 and 1871.1 He held the office of Lieutenant of County Monaghan.1 He lived at Glaslough, County Monaghan, Ireland.1

Thomas Slingsby1

     Thomas Slingsby was born on 12 October 1826.1 He was the son of Colonel Charles Powell Leslie and Christiana Fosbery.2 He married Emma Louisa Catherine Slingsby, daughter of Charles Slingsby, on 19 July 1860.1 He died on 6 September 1903 at age 76.1
     He was given the name of Thomas Leslie at birth. He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Horse Guards.1 He fought in the Crimean War, where he was the original bearer of the message to the Light Brigade which was snatched from him by the overzealous Captain Nolan and relayed by the latter in garbled form, with the well-known disastrous consequences.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Yorkshire.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Yorkshire.1 On 9 April 1869 his name was legally changed to Thomas Slingsby by Royal Licence.1

Emma Louisa Catherine Slingsby1

     Emma Louisa Catherine Slingsby was the daughter of Charles Slingsby.1 She married Thomas Slingsby, son of Colonel Charles Powell Leslie and Christiana Fosbery, on 19 July 1860.1 She died on 1 July 1899, without issue.1
     From 19 July 1860, her married name became Leslie. From 9 April 1869, her married name became Slingsby.1
