     Lanarks.1 He is credited with having planned the town of Strathaven and where he was an early property developer.1 Nr Motherwell.1 He was a wright in 1732 at Strathaven, Lanarkshire, Scotland.1 He held the office of Burgess of Paisley in 1753.1 He held the office of Burgess of Glasgow in 1758.1 He lived at Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland.1 At Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland, he allegedly invented a weaving contrivance called a jim limb.1

     Nathaniel Stevenson was baptised on 12 November 1732.1 He was the son of James Stevenson and Jean Hastie.2 He married Janet Maxwell, daughter of Robert Maxwell and Janet Stevenson, on 10 June 1766.1 He died on 27 August 1824 at age 91.1
     He held the office of Burgess of Glasgow in 1764.1 He was a merchant in Strang & Stevenson, Glasgow.1 He held the office of Burgess of Hamilton in 1782.1 He was member of Merchant's House, Glasgow, Sneddon, and Paisley in 1789.1

     James Stevenson was baptised on 26 February 1738.1 He was the son of James Stevenson and Jean Hastie.2 He married, firstly, Janet Niven, daughter of John Niven.1 He married, secondly, Margaret Cochran, daughter of John Cochran and Margaret Craig, in 1780.1 He died on 24 February 1806 at age 67.1
     He was proprietor of James Stevenson & Co, Paisley, silk manufacturers in 1781.1 He was proprietor of Niven, Stevenson & Pagan in 1788.1 He lived in 1804 at Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland.1
