     Reverend Samuel Marcus Dill was born on 24 August 1812.1 He was the son of Reverend Samuel Dill and Hester Foster.2 He married Anna Harrison Moreland, daughter of James Cowan Moreland, on 8 May 1843.1 He died on 11 May 1870 at age 57.1
     He graduated from Glasgow University, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, ScotlandG, in 1831 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He graduated from Glasgow University, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, ScotlandG, in 1833 with a Doctor of Divinity (D.D.)1 He was the Minister in 1835 at Hillsborough, County Down, IrelandG.1 He was the Minister in 1837 at Ballymena, County Antrim, IrelandG.1 He was Professor of Systematic Theology and 1st President at Magee College, Londonderry, County Londonderry, IrelandG.1 He was Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland between 1860 and 1861.1
