     Elizabeth Butcher was born on 5 February 1849.1 She was the daughter of Most Rev. Rt. Hon. Samuel Butcher and Mary Leahy.1 She married Thomas Spring Rice, 2nd Baron Monteagle of Brandon, son of Hon. Stephen Edmond Spring Rice and Ellen Mary Frere, on 26 October 1875 at Ardbraccan, County Meath, IrelandG.2 She died on 27 April 1908 at age 59.1
     After her marriage, Elizabeth Butcher was styled as Baroness Monteagle of Brandon on 26 October 1875. From 26 October 1875, her married name became Spring Rice.2

     Edward Dominck Spring Rice was born on 3 June 1891.1 He was the son of Stephen Edward Spring Rice and Julia Emma Isabella FitzGerald.1,2 He married, firstly, Margaret Lois Garrett, daughter of Samuel Garrett, on 26 July 1919.1 He and Margaret Lois Garrett were divorced in 1936.1 He married, secondly, Margaret Angela Ritchie, daughter of Gerald Ritchie, on 30 October 1936.1 He died on 11 November 1940 at age 49.1
     He was Financial Advisor, British Mission to Russia between 1918 and 1919.1

Thomas Spring Rice, 2nd Baron Monteagle of Brandon1

     Thomas Spring Rice, 2nd Baron Monteagle of Brandon was born on 31 May 1849 at Hither Green, Lewisham, Kent, EnglandG.1 He was the son of Hon. Stephen Edmond Spring Rice and Ellen Mary Frere.1,2 He married Elizabeth Butcher, daughter of Most Rev. Rt. Hon. Samuel Butcher and Mary Leahy, on 26 October 1875 at Ardbraccan, County Meath, IrelandG.1 He died on 24 December 1926 at age 77 at London, EnglandG.1
     He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, England.3 He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Monteagle of Brandon, of Brandon, co. Kerry [U.K., 1839] on 7 February 1866.3 He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)3 He was president of the Statistical and Social Inquiry Society of Ireland between 1882 and 1884.3,4 He was appointed Knight, Order of St. Patrick (K.P.) in 1885.3 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of County Limerick.3 He was founder of the Proportional Representation Society of Ireland in 1911.4
