     Alexander Seton, 3rd Earl of Dunfermline was born on 12 June 1642.1 He was the son of Charles Seton, 2nd Earl of Dunfermline and Lady Mary Douglas.1 He died circa September 1677.1
     He succeeded as the 3rd Lord Fyvie [S., 1598] in May 1672.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Earl of Dunfermline [S., 1605] in May 1672.1

     James Seton, 4th Earl of Dunfermline was born after 1643. He was the son of Charles Seton, 2nd Earl of Dunfermline and Lady Mary Douglas.1 He married Lady Jean Gordon, daughter of Lewis Gordon, 3rd Marquess of Huntly and Mary Grant, circa 6 July 1682.1 He died on 26 December 1694 at Saint-Germain-en-Laye, Île-de-France, FranceG.1
     He succeeded as the 4th Lord Fyvie [S., 1598] circa September 1677.1 He succeeded as the 4th Earl of Dunfermline [S., 1605] circa September 1677.1 He fought in the Battle of Killiecrankie on 27 July 1689, on King James II's side.1 In 1690 he was declared forfeit by the Scottish Parliament, for his invlovment with the deposed King James II in the Battle of Killiecrankie.1 On his death, his titles became extinct or possibly dormant.1

     Lady Mary Montgomerie was born in 1642.2 She was the daughter of Hugh Montgomerie, 7th Earl of Eglinton and Lady Mary Leslie.1,3 She married George Seton, 4th Earl of Winton, son of George Seton, Lord Seton and Lady Henrietta Gordon, on 4 September 1662.1 She died on 18 November 1703, without surviving male issue.1
     Her married name became Seton.

     Christian Hepburn was the daughter of John Hepburn of Adinstoun.1 She married George Seton, 4th Earl of Winton, son of George Seton, Lord Seton and Lady Henrietta Gordon, before 6 March 1682.1 She died on 18 November 1703.2
     From before 6 March 1682, her married name became Seton.

George Seton, 5th Earl of Winton1

     George Seton, 5th Earl of Winton was the son of George Seton, 4th Earl of Winton and Christian Hepburn.1 He married Margaret McKlear, daughter of unknown McKlear.2 He died on 19 December 1749 at Rome, ItalyG, unmarried.1
     His illigitmate birth was legitimised under Scottish law by his parent's subsequent marriage.1 He succeeded as the 10th Lord Seton [S., 1451] on 6 March 1704.1 He succeeded as the 5th Earl of Winton [S., 1600] on 6 March 1704.1 He fought in the Battle of Preston on 13 November 1715, where he was captured.1 On 19 March 1716 he was convicted of high treason and condemned to death, with his titles forfeit. After feigning madness, he obained a reprieve.1 On 4 August 1716 he escaped from the Tower of London and fled to join the Jacobite King James III.1 He was Grand Master of the Masonic Lodge between 1736 and 1739 at Rome, ItalyG.1
     From the time of his Lordship's death the honours of the illustrious house of Seton remained dormant until 1840, when Archibald William, 13th Earl of Eglinton, the male representative of this noble family, was served heir male-general of 4th Earl of Winton.
