     Sir Herbert Croft was the son of Edward Croft and Ann Browne.2 He married Mary Bourne, daughter of Anthony Bourne. He died on 10 April 1622 at Douai, FranceG.2
     He lived at Croft Castle, Herefordshire, EnglandG.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Herefordshire between 1592 and 1617.2 In 1607 he turned Roman Catholic and became a lay-brother of the Benedictine monastery of Douai.2
