Rt. Rev. William Talbot

     Rt. Rev. William Talbot was baptised on 2 July 1658.2 He was the son of William Talbot and Mary Doughty.2 He married Catherine King, daughter of Richard King.2 He died on 10 October 1730 at age 72.
     He graduated from Oriel College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, on 23 June 1680 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)2 He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of County Durham.2 He held the office of Dean of Worcester in 1691.2 He held the office of Bishop of Oxford between 1699 and 1715.2 He held the office of Bishop of Salisbury between 1715 and 1722.2 He held the office of Bishop of Durham in 1722.2

     Catherine King was the daughter of Richard King. She married Rt. Rev. William Talbot, son of William Talbot and Mary Doughty.1
     Her married name became Talbot.1

Charles Talbot, 1st Baron Talbot of Hensol1

     Charles Talbot, 1st Baron Talbot of Hensol was baptised on 21 December 1685.2 He was the son of Rt. Rev. William Talbot and Catherine King.2 He married Cecil Matthews, daughter of Charles Matthews and unknown daughter Jenkins, in 1709.2 He died on 14 February 1736/37 at age 51.2
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.2 He was educated at Oriel College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.2 He was admitted to Inner Temple in 1710 entitled to practise as a barrister.2 He held the office of Solicitor-General to the Prince of Wales in 1717.2 He was admitted to Lincoln's Inn in January 1718/19.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Whig) for Tregony between 1720 and 1722.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Whig) for Durham from 1722 to 1723.2 He held the office of Bencher of Lincoln's Inn in 1726.2 He held the office of Bencher of Inner Temple in 1726.2 He held the office of Solicitor-General between 1726 and 1733.2 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1733.2 He held the office of Lord Chancellor from 1733 to February 1736/37.2 He was created 1st Baron Talbot of Hensol, co. Glamorgan [Great Britain] on 5 December 1733.1

William Talbot, 1st Earl Talbot1

     William Talbot, 1st Earl Talbot was born on 16 May 1710.1 He was the son of Charles Talbot, 1st Baron Talbot of Hensol and Cecil Matthews.1 He married Mary de Cardonnel, daughter of Rt. Hon. Adam de Cardonnel, on 21 February 1733/34.1 He died on 27 April 1782 at age 71.1
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He was educated at Exeter College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Whig) for Glamorgan between 1734 and 1737.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Talbot of Hensol, co. Glamorgan [G.B., 1733] on 14 February 1736/37.1 He and Frances Scudamore were associated eloped even though both were married at the time.2 He gained the rank of Colonel in 1760 in the Glamorgan Militia.1 He held the office of Lord Steward of teh Household between 1761 and 1782.1 He was created 1st Earl Talbot [Great Britain] on 10 March 1761.1 He was created 1st Baron Dynevor of Dynevor, co. Carmarthen [Great Britain] on 17 October 1780, with special remainder to his daughter.3
     On his death, the Earldom became extinct. The Barony of Talbot of Hensol reverted to his nephew who was advanced to the Earldom 3 July 1784.

Hon. John Talbot1

     Hon. John Talbot was the son of Charles Talbot, 1st Baron Talbot of Hensol and Cecil Matthews.2 He married, firstly, Henrietta Maria Decker, daughter of Sir Matthew Decker, 1st and last Bt., in May 1737.2 He married, secondly, Hon. Catherine Chetwynd, daughter of John Chetwynd, 2nd Viscount Chetwynd of Bearhaven and Esther Kent, in August 1748.1 He died on 22 September 1756.2
     He acquired the Ingestre estate of Ingestre Hall and 10,500 acres of Staffordshire through his wife.2

     Hon. Catherine Chetwynd was the daughter of John Chetwynd, 2nd Viscount Chetwynd of Bearhaven and Esther Kent.2 She married Hon. John Talbot, son of Charles Talbot, 1st Baron Talbot of Hensol and Cecil Matthews, in August 1748.1 She died on 20 January 1785.3,2
     Her married name became Talbot.

     John Chetwynd, 2nd Viscount Chetwynd of Bearhaven was born between 1678 and 1684.1 He was the son of John Chetwynd and Lucy Roane.2 He married Esther Kent, daughter of Richard Kent and unknown FitzJames, before 25 July 1716.3 He died on 21 June 1767, without surviving male issue.4 His will was proven (by probate) on 12 July 1767.1
     He held the office of Receiver-General of the Duchy of Lancaster between 1702 and 1718.1 He was Envoy to Savoy between 1706 and 1710.4 He held the office of Lord of Trade between 1714 and 1728.4 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Whig) for St. Mawes between 1715 and 1722.4 He held the office of Lord of the Admiralty between 1717 and 1727.4 He was Envoy to Spain from 1717 to 1718.4 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Whig) for Stockbridge between 1722 and 1727.4 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Tory) for Stockbridge between 1727 and 1734.4 He held the office of Recorder of Stafford in 1735.1 He held the office of High Steward of Stafford.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Viscount Chetwynd of Bearhaven, co.      Charles John Chetwynd Chetwynd-Talbot, 19th Earl of Shrewsbury was born on 13 April 1830.1 He was the son of Henry John Chetwynd-Talbot, 18th Earl of Shrewsbury and Lady Sarah Elizabeth Beresford.1 He married Anna Theresa Cockerell, daughter of Commander Richard Howe Cockerell and Theresa Newcomen, on 15 February 1855.1 He died on 11 May 1877 at age 47 at 39 Dover Street, London, EnglandG, suddenly.2
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He was educated at Merton College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.1 He gained the rank of Cornet in 1851 in the 1st Life Guards.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in 1853.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.)      Mary de Cardonnel was born circa 1719.2 She was the daughter of Rt. Hon. Adam de Cardonnel. She married William Talbot, 1st Earl Talbot, son of Charles Talbot, 1st Baron Talbot of Hensol and Cecil Matthews, on 21 February 1733/34.1 She died on 5 April 1787.1
     Her married name became Talbot.
