He was the son of Reverend William Heaton Elmhirst and Mary Knight.1,2 He married, firstly, Katherine Gordon Black, daughter of William Black, on 16 September 1930. He married, secondly, Marian Louisa Montagu Douglas Scott, daughter of Lt.-Col. Lord Herbert Andrew Montagu Douglas Scott and Marie Josephine Edwards, on 30 October 1968.1 He died on 6 December 1982 at age 86.1,2
     He was awarded the Air Force Cross (A.F.C.)1 He gained the rank of Air Marshall in the Royal Air Force.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the British Empire (K.B.E.)1

     Patricia Katherine Montagu Douglas Scott was born on 9 October 1910.1 She was the daughter of Lt.-Col. Lord Herbert Andrew Montagu Douglas Scott and Marie Josephine Edwards.1 She married, firstly, Lt.-Col. Walter Douglas Faulkner, son of James Faulkner, on 8 July 1931.1 She married, secondly, Lt.-Col. David Scrymgeour-Wedderburn, son of Lt.-Col. Henry Scrymgeour-Wedderburn of Wedderburn and Birkhill and Edith Moffat, on 9 September 1940.1 She married, thirdly, Henry James Scrymgeour of Dundee, 11th Earl of Dundee, son of Lt.-Col. Henry Scrymgeour-Wedderburn of Wedderburn and Birkhill and Edith Moffat, on 30 October 1946.1 She died on 3 December 2012 at age 102.2
     From 8 July 1931, her married name became Faulkner. From 9 September 1940, her married name became Scrymgeour-Wedderburn. From 30 October 1946, her married name became Scrymgeour.1 After her marriage, Patricia Katherine Montagu Douglas Scott was styled as Countess of Dundee on 31 July 1952. She lived in 2003 at Coultra Farm House, Newport-on-Tay, Fife, ScotlandG.1

     Lt.-Col. Walter Douglas Faulkner was born on 16 August 1898.2 He was the son of James Faulkner.1 He married Patricia Katherine Montagu Douglas Scott, daughter of Lt.-Col. Lord Herbert Andrew Montagu Douglas Scott and Marie Josephine Edwards, on 8 July 1931.1 He died on 14 May 1940 at age 41 at Narvik, NorwayG, killed in action.1,3 He was buried at Narvik Civil Cemetery, Narvik, NorwayG.3
     He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Irish Guards.1 He fought in the Second World War.1

Henry Scrymgeour-Wedderburn of Wedderburn and Birkhill and Edith Moffat.3 He married Patricia Katherine Montagu Douglas Scott, daughter of Lt.-Col. Lord Herbert Andrew Montagu Douglas Scott and Marie Josephine Edwards, on 30 October 1946.3 He died on 29 June 1983 at age 81.1
