Strathclyde is a multi-award-winning university. Some of our most prestigious accolades are the Times Higher Education Awards and Times Higher Education Leadership and Management Awards, viewed as the 'Oscars' of the UK higher education sector.
Winning 10 of these awards in nine years, we've been recognised across a variety of categories. These include the coveted University of the Year and Business School of the Year.
In 2019, we won University of the Year for the second time. As well as the University of the Year, we also won the Widening Participation or Outreach Initiative of the Year award for our Breaking Barriers initiative, a pioneering programme which gives young people with learning disabilities access to education and work experience opportunities.
2019 - University of the Year
We became the first university to win University of the Year award twice, after first winning it in 2012.

2017 - Outstanding Strategic Planning Team
We won this Times Higher Education Leadership and Management Award for a new approach to tracking student applications, which was designed to help increase the number of students from areas of low participation in higher education.
2017 - Lifetime Achievement Award
Professor Sir John Curtice, of our School of Government & Public Policy, received the Lord Dearing Lifetime Achievement Award at the Times Higher Education Awards in 2017.
The award was made in recognition of his academic career in psephology – the study of elections and voting – and his extensive media work, which has been widely credited with making complex political issues accessible to a wide audience.

Our Business School has long held an international reputation for excellence. This was further recognised by winning Business School of the Year 2016 for outstanding overall performance, and innovative and entrepreneurial outlook.

Strathclyde won this category in the Times Higher Education Leadership and Management Awards for our Engage With Strathclyde programme. This annual outreach event offers academic staff opportunities to establish new partnerships and enhance existing collaborations.
