Foreword: This book contains the proceedings of the 24th International Conference on Enterprise Information Systems (ICEIS 2022), which was sponsored by the Institute for Systems and Technologies of Information, Control and Communication (INSTICC), held in cooperation with the IEICE Special Interest Group on Software Interprise Modelling (SWIM) and IEEE SMC – IEEE Technical Committee on Enterprise Information Systems. This year ICEIS was held as a web-based event, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, from 25 - 27 April. Published papers reflect research work in the areas of “Databases and Information Systems Integration”, “Artificial Intelligence and Decision Support Systems”, “Information Systems Analysis and Specification”, “Software Agents and Internet Computing”, “Human-Computer Interaction” and “Enterprise Architecture”. ICEIS 2022 received 197 paper submissions from 44 countries in all continents, confirming it as one of the largest conferences in the World in the area of Information Systems, thus demonstrating the success and global dimension of this conference. From these, 40 papers were selected for publication and presentation at the conference as full papers. These numbers, leading to a full-paper acceptance ratio of 20%, show the intention of preserving a high-quality forum for this conference, a quality that we intend to maintain in the future, for the next editions of this conference. The high number and high quality of the received papers imposed difficult choices in the selection process. To evaluate each submission, a double-blind paper review was performed by the Program Committee, whose members are highly qualified researchers in ICEIS topic areas. All presented papers will be available at the SCITEPRESS Digital Library and will be submitted for indexation by Web of Science/Conference Proceedings Citation Index (ISI), DBLP, EI (Elsevier Index), Scopus, Semantic Scholar and Google Scholar. Additionally, a short list of presented papers will be selected to be revised and expanded into a forthcoming book of ICEIS 2022 Selected Papers to be published by Springer in the LNBIP Series. Furthermore, a special issue of Springer Nature Computer Science Journal will be published with some papers presented at the conference. The technical program of the conference includes 4 keynote speeches delivered by internationally distinguished speakers, namely: Davor Svetinovic (Vienna University of Economics and Business, Austria), Brian Fitzgerald (University of Limerick, Ireland), Jan Mendling (Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Germany) and Birgit Penzenstadler (Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden). Their participation positively contributed to reinforce the overall quality of the conference and to provide a deeper understanding of the fields addressed by the conference. Complementing this, the program has a tutorial session lead by Wilfrid Utz (OMiLAB gGmbH, Germany), Robert Buchmann (Babes-Bolyai University, Romania) and Patrik Burzynski (OMiLAB NPO, Germany). We sincerely thank all the authors for their submissions and participation in ICEIS 2022. Furthermore, we are grateful to all the members of the program committee and reviewers, who helped us with their expertise, dedication and time. We would also like to thank the invited speakers for their excellent contribution in sharing their knowledge and vision. Finally, we acknowledge the professional support of the INSTICC team for all organizational processes in order to make it possible for ICEIS 2022 authors to present their work and share ideas with colleagues in spite of the logistic difficulties caused by the current pandemic situation. We hope that all colleagues who participated in the conference and/or read its proceedings, find this a fruitful and inspiring conference. We hope to contribute to the development of the Enterprise Information Systems community and look forward to having additional research results presented at the next edition of ICEIS, details of which are available at http://iceis.scitevents.org.
