Love it

I absolutely love this piece, beautifull imagery, and skillfully executed.
Some points of critique concerning the hands though;
his left wrist could maybe use some more definition (im not an expert on anatomy, but it looks a bit swollen to me at the moment)
His right hand seems to have two thumbs..?
The "black" areas could be a bit more evenly colored (or rather, in the same direction). there are some areas where its almost about to get messy.

Ne7ers responds:

Well spotted! I noticed the two thumbs the other night and was hoping no one else would manage to pick it out. The only explanation i can give for this is that when i was piecing together the bits of paper i must have overlooked the alignment, resulting in two thumbs. I hate to dwell on images too long but i might have to do something with it in photoshop if it annoys me too much.

I usually keep all of my work very tight, so much so that i was starting to get bored and dread creating some of my ideas just because of the complexity, so this is a stab at a new style, and in some parts i have purposely aimed to be loose and messy, with tighter areas to pull things together.

And finally, that right arm... I noticed something slightly wrong with it from the first draught sketch, i took the whole ''ill fix it later'' approach. What a pain in the ass its been.

I thought this piece would be about the semi-obscure web browser, Flock.

what a dissapointment

Oh my goodness!

I keep forgetting that art can be creating without Photoshop. You kind sir or mam (sorry, I have a female friend named sam) have created a masterpiece! Thank you for sharing it.

Beautiful

Excellent work. Maybe a little influenced by John Dyer Baizley?

Ne7ers responds:

Thankyou very much, I hadn't seen any of John Dyer Baizley's work until you mentioned him, very beautiful stuff. Thanks for introducing his work to me!

Fantastically Well Done

Excellent shades and a beautiful use of colors. Great attention to detail.

I noticed some people referring to the figure in your piece as a "she." However, it seems to me that the figure is more muscular and thicker in certain areas than most women. The figure just struck me as a little more masculine. Was it meant to be one or the other? Or was it purposefully done as an androgynous figure?

The more I look at it I would guess that it is a guy if I had to guess the sex. The hair might be making some people automatically think female.

Ne7ers responds:

There has been a very mixed speculation as to the sex of the figure in this picture, which i have kept quiet about just because I've found it so interesting. In an origional first draught sketch the figure began as a female, it was only on the final draught that i decided to draw a male figure. It seems that the hair and maybe something about the posture that has given him an androgynous feel.
I would have said that the figure was definately male, but its so hard to look from an outside perspective on something i've created. Having made the figure so mysterious is definately something i dont regret, its been really interesting to see how people have responded.
