ABSTRACT
November 16, 1959: Writer Truman Capote, taken by a story of the murder of a Kansas family with no evident suspects, visits the area with Harper Lee to begin work on what would ultimately become In Cold Blood. An investigation leads to suspects and, in good time, convicts in killers Dick Hickock and Perry Smith, thrusting Capote into a situation where he tests the boundaries of a writer's relationship with their subjects as he grows closer and closer to the pair in an attempt to garner material for his book.
