The MCLE Compliance Deadline is December 31st, 2024.
Your transcript is available to review at any time. Compliance deadline email reminders will be sent periodically throughout the calendar year from compliance@lsbamembership.com. The deadline for earning credits is December 31, 2024, and the deadline for filing those credits or an exemption is January 31, 2025. Please check your records to be sure you are compliant.
For the 2024 compliance period ending December 31, 2024, the limitation for computer-based CLE is set at 4 hours annually (as defined in Rule 3(d) of LASC Rule XXX). This includes interactive live webcasts, webinars, and on-demand recordings.
COMMON ERRORS TO AVOID
- Don’t wait until the last minute. In-person courses fill up, and you could be left out!
- Be sure you have included your bar number on any registration form or online profile. Be sure your bar number is correct on your registration form or online profile.
- Do NOT wait to take online courses on the last day of the year. Glitches happen! If a course is completed after midnight on December 31st, the course will be credited to the new year and the late fee will be assessed.
- If you choose to take a course that is not already approved for LA CLE credit, these credits are
not guaranteed. Louisiana does not have reciprocity with any other MCLE jurisdiction. Send in your out-of-state applications early, so you know if you need to take additional hours before the deadline.
- If you are experiencing an undue hardship, send your request in now. Contact MCLE Director,
Mindi Hunter, about your mitigating circumstances. An attorney experiencing serious medical or other issues may qualify for a waiver or some degree of relevant assistance to help reach the compliance requirement for the year. If requests are received after the compliance deadline, fees may not be waived.
- All Compliance related communications will be sent from
compliance@lsbamembership.com. Be sure this email is on your “safe sender” list to avoid important information going to your spam/junk folder. Please be sure your email address and preferred mailing address are
up to date.
- Pay attention to emails from
no-reply-mcle@lsba.org. When a course is credited to your transcript, you receive an email stating such. If you have not received an email within 30 days of completing a course, your credit has not been reported and the course provider should be contacted.
