Programme Overview

The aim of the programme is to train highly qualified Russian financial professionals who know the theory and practice of corporate finance and can create financial strategies for companies operating in conditions of a global transformation of financial markets and transition to an innovative economy.

Graduates will be ready to work in Russian and international companies. In order to help them glide easily into work, besides studying the theory, the course puts a strong emphasis on developing practical skills. The students have direct contact with potential employers through regular meetings with business people. Master classes with specialists, presentations and analysis of real cases, joint research projects which students work on, are all part of the programme. 

Teaching this programme combines the efforts of highly qualifies staff from the department of economics and company finance, most of whom have practical experience of work in financial, analytical and consulting companies. Some subjects are taught by members of the faculty of economics and faculty of world economics and politics.Our graduates know how to analyse different aspects of a firms policy for attracting capital, investments, dividends, buying shares, evaluating the efficiency of mergers, strategies of corporate diversification and restructuring. Besides they know how to make an assessment of the cost of an entire company and of its various businesses. They can devise complex financial models on which to base efficiency, and the rationale of major strategic company decisions. They have mastered the concepts, the analysis and tools to run a business on the basis of its value. All this knowledge and skill is needed in many various parts of the economy both financial and non-financial.
