Unable to install Glassfish plugin on Eclipse Photon & Oxygen [message #1792116]

I'm trying to set up the Glassfish server on Eclipse but have had no luck. I'm on Java version 10.0.1

Steps:
1. Open Eclipse
2. Go to Help > Eclipse Marketplace
3. Search for GlassFish
4. Click on Install
5. Glassfish Tools and oracle.eclipse.tools.glassfish is selected. Click Confirm.

Result:
Installation progress bar says "Cannot perform operation. Computing alternate solutions, may take awhile." It eventually finishes and says "Cannot complete the request. See error logs for details."

Not sure where to find the error logs. I get this same error on both Eclipse Photon & Oxygen.

We too would need to see the error log for details. Type "Error Log" in the "Quick Access" search box to the upper right of the perspective for the view of the error log.

If you don't have an Error Log view, the file itself is at <workspace location>/.metadata/.log . The view would only be present if you had the Plug-in Development Environment installed.

I have faced the same issue with Eclipse Photon 4.8.0

I too am unable to download glassfish tools from the eclipse marketplace in Oxygen or Photon. It works in Neon.
Are we any closer to a resolution?
I found a post about a similar issue in the past regarding a broken web cache for the marketplace?

Having the same problem with Eclipse Luna. Running on Windows10.

In addition to this, there is no link on the Server view, where you can add additional servers.

Hi,
I am using Eclipse 2018 12.I am trying to install GlassFish 5.0 using eclipse marketplace(under help) but the option available only supports GlassFish4.x.
Can anyone help ?

As you are on the latest, you might try http://download.eclipse.org/glassfish-tools/1.0.0/repository ,
the Update Site for the tools now that they are a project at the Eclipse Foundation. Work with that URL from the Help->Install New Software menu in Eclipse.

This worked for eclipse 2018-09 and 2018-12, but no longer works with 2019-03. I tried to submit a bug report, but that is blocked. Eclipse Foundation manages GlassFish now. How about we either restore the ability to install the version published to the marketplace, and fix the one in the official eclipse.org link.

You'll need to add the Sapphire update site, http://download.eclipse.org/sapphire/9.1.1/repository , to your list of Available Software Sites so that it can be found.

I was struggling a lot to find a sol, thus I decided to uninstall eclipse Oxygene and install Eclipse neon it works fine now, https://www.eclipse.org/downloads/packages/release/neon/3

Please follow the below steps for configuration of Glass-Fish Server With Eclipse IDE.

Go to the Help Section Of Eclipse.
Choose Option Install New Software.
Paste the below given link in the Text Box of Work With option.
Link: http://download.eclipse.org/glassfish-tools/1.0.1/repository/
Then Proceed with Confirm OK OK.
Now It will take some time to install and automatically ask for Restart.
Success.

Hi everyone,

I have a similar issue. I tried to install GlassFish using the Eclipse Marketplace. When clicking on "Install", I get an error message telling me "No repository found". If I check the url, it tells me "Not found".

Can anyone tell me please how I can install GlassFish Tools (Eclipse version 4.25.0, don't know if this matters)?
