The Grantham Canal between Gamston and Bassingfield

Opened in 1797, the canal takes a winding route across the Vale of Belvoir from the Trent at Nottingham to Grantham. It was abandoned in 1936. It's a pleasant walk along the towpath from Bridgford, even on a stuffy midsummer evening.
