My Zinc Bed
Fri, 21 Jan 2005 12:01 AMStarring Colin Moss, Andre Roothman and Nikki Jackman, one of the play?s prime themes is addiction: addiction to alcohol, love or the transient adrenaline rush of the business deal. It is a sharp observation on the solitude of a decaying marriage and the difficulty of conquering one's all consuming compulsions.
A successful entrepreneur, Victor Quinn, employs a young poet, Paul Peplow, to enhance the image of his fast-growing Internet business. Paul's growing friendship with Victor's wife, Elsa, ensures that nothing prepares either man for an outcome that makes for a compelling story of romance and addiction.
The original London cast starred Julia Ormond as Elsa, Steven Mackintosh as Paul Peplow and Tom Wilkinson as Victor Quinn. Sir David Hare has just completed the film script, which will be shot early in 2006. Casting is still to be announced.
