Demonkey is a Beastformer from the Generation 1 continuity family.

During the Great War for planet Beast, Demonkey (デモンキー Demonkī) fought on the side of Alligatron's Decepticon-backed army, specializing in forest combat and deforestation. Skilled in psychology and tactics, Demonkey works best by observing his target's behavior, developing a psychological profile to predict and counter their moves. His weapon, the fearsome Demon Waver (デーモンウェーバー Dēmon Wēbā), can emit "Demon Waves" that can temporarily drive a target to panic and madness.

These days, he serves as the Emperor of Palmyra under King Little Serow, putting his skills to use in service of his country. Combining his analytical skills with Serow's calm rationality, the pair rarely make mistakes.

May or may not be sticker-accurate to the actual Takara release.
  • Perfect 6-Piece Set (Box set, 1988)
  • ID number: 56
  • Accessories: "Demon Waver" MVP Weapon
Demonkey is an anthropomorphic tarsier in green robotic armor. His left hand is posed in a flat-palmed pose. The Battle Emblem on his chest reveals one of three symbols when warmed up: Fire, Water or Wood. He comes with his "Demon Waver" MVP Weapon.
Though a common release in the Hasbro Battle Beasts line, he was only available in the Takara post-Transformers "RPG"-themed Beastformers line as part of the "Perfect 6-Piece Set" (パーフェクト6体セット Pāfekuto 6 Tai Setto, the English text on the packaging renders it as "Beastformer 6 Animals Set") multi-pack.... but he was not always actually in it.
Five of the six slots in this box set will always have the exclusive Crystal Killer Fish, plus the "common" Beastformers Baboon, Cobrander, Eagle Killer, and Shield Dragon. The sixth would be either Demonkey or Little Serow, who was also only available in this set, meaning you'd need to buy two for a complete collection. Thankfully, a panel on the bottom-right corner of the box back tells the buyer which six figures are in that set, so at least it's not blind luck this time.
Later in the run, the "mood ring" styled rubsigns were replaced with new rubsigns that revealed full-color Fire/Wood/Water images on black backdrops. It is uncertain if the box set toys got these new stickers or not. (These rubsign variants also happened at the same time in the Hasbro Battle Beast version of the line, thus, the picture to the right.)

Notes

  • Demonkey's "deforestation soldier" role comes from various 1987 Transformers: Beastformers character/toy checklists, despite Demonkey not actually being sold in the '87 line.
  • Speaking of, the 1987 character poster art (seen at the top of this page) incorrectly colors his sword gold. His recolored '88 bio card corrects this error.
  • Said bio card gives him the cheery nickname "Demon" (デーモン Dēmon).
